INTERNATIONAL buyers are flocking to an inner Brisbane home as it heads to auction this week for the first time since being built 35 years ago.
A four-bedroom, two-bathroom property at 15 Lohe Street, Indooroopilly has seen a total of 64 groups going through the property over the last two weeks as buyers are drawn to the St Peter’s college precinct.
Property agent Matt O’Neill said the Indooroopilly market is was very competitive among international buyers at the moment.
“From buyers with over $1.5m to spend there has been a resurgence of international buyers,” Mr O’Neill said.
“For this property we expect it to sell on Saturday, there’s about five or six people who are registering to bid.
“We have had three unconditional offers from overseas so far.
“We haven’t seen a downturn in the market around St Lucia, Indooroopilly and Toowong.
“The lack of stock is driving the prices up particularly in the higher end, where most of that demographic isn’t affected by the cost of living rises”.
Son of now deceased owners, Cameron Cater said his parents Graham and Judy loved the area.
“The house is timeless”, Mr Cater said.

“Indooroopilly is a nice little neck of the woods, the brown snake wraps around the whole suburb with trains on one side and ferrys not to far down the road.
“The home has beautiful eastern views looking down onto St Lucia, it’s very modern and has got a wow factor.
“It’s very convenient and the bird life and wildlife is amazing.
“My parents loved the high glass room with marble floor that catches the morning sun they found it very comfortable.
Mr Carter also said his parents were drawn to the property due to its close proximity to the St Lucia Golf Links.
“My Dad who passed away at 91 was playing golf up until a few months before he died”, he said.
“My Dad was the second eldest there and played competition three times a week.
“Mum passed away a few years earlier, they both had a really strong history at the golf club.
“I hope the new owners will love and enjoy the house.”
