Rachel McAdams is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood. She’s had roles in some of the biggest hits in the past decade, including The Notebook and Mean Girls. But her scariest and most terrifying role came from playing a man playing a woman in the 2002 movie The Hot Chick with Rob Schneider.

“I remember standing backstage, dressed like a mechanic. I had a pink bikini on underneath, grease on my face, and I just remember breathing deep and thinking, Oh my God, I have to go out there and do this, as a man…as a woman,” she tells Allure magazine of her most difficult role.

In the movie, McAdams and Schneider go through some strange occurrences where they accidentally swap bodies. For the remainder of the movie, McAdams has to play Schneider playing her and vice versa. It was a challenging role for her to act like a man in a woman’s body. “It stretched me in ways in could have never imagined. Literally,” she says of that moment in her life.

It’s been a while since McAdams has had a role like this, as she’s grown up and taken on more mature roles. For the past few years, she’s been working on more mature, more serious projects that showcase her acting abilities and provide her with the ability to be seen as a more mature and sophisticated actress. However, we all still remember her in Hot Chicks, Mean Girls and The Notebook, and we all love her from those movies.

McAdams is terrified of becoming a typecast actress. Her goal is to be known as an actress who can do anything. “I’m hoping it’s going to be complicated and have lots of dead ends and corners and sharp turns. I hope it can’t be summed up too easily when I’m done,” she says of her career.
