Lily Collins Supports World Eating Disorders Action Day

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Sometimes the truth is hard to hear. It’s too painful. Too real. But it’s so important to face it in order to live the healthiest life you can in which you feel emotionally and physically fulfilled.

Earlier this year, actress Lily Collins landed a new role in Marti Noxon’s dark anorexic comedy, To The Bone. Since then, Collins has been constantly posting her support for those who have or are battling eating disorders. On Thursday, June 2, the Stuck In Love star spoke out once again about the very important topic.

June 2 marked the very first World Eating Disorders Action Day, and Lily Collins, along with other To The Bone cast members, decided to raise awareness on the pressing health issues. Lily Collins, Keanu Reeves, Marti Noxon, Kathryn Prescott, and many more spoke in a Public Service Announcement titled “Nine Truths About Eating Disorders,” where they relay important facts about eating disorders.

The PSA starts out with Lily Collins stating, “Truth Number One: Many people with eating disorders look healthy, yet may be extremely ill.” Collins posted this clip to her Instagram encouraging fans to watch and support the cause. She ended her post with the hashtag #WeDoAct, which was introduced in the PSA as a way to talk about and bring awareness to World Eating Disorders Action Day.

Along with the clip, Collins posted another photo shedding light on the illnesses. The National Eating Disorders Association states that “Eating disorders are serious, life-threatening illnesses that impact millions of people every year in the United States,” and that “approximately a half million teens struggle with eating disorders or disordered eating.” It is very important to raise awareness for these illnesses, and Collins’ extreme dedication to the cause and touching captions are very admirable and we thank her for her support.
