Levina To Represent Germany At Eurovision With "Perfect Life"

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Germany’s Unser Song 2017 crowned Levina as the winner; which means that she’s going to represent the country in Kyiv, Ukraine for Eurovision. She will sing “Perfect Life” and the country is hoping the song will stop their running streak of coming last.

In a national selection that saw four rounds in one night, the final ended up with Levina competing against herself. The contest was meant to be a singer vs. singer knockout competition. However in round three, Levina’s performances of “Wildfire” and “Perfect Life” saw her come first and second; resulting in a final featuring only her and her two songs.

Ultimately, “Perfect Life” won the show. The upbeat song that claims that a perfect life is following your dreams and overcoming daily struggles, has been highly compared to David Guetta & Sia’s “Titanium”.

Listen To Levina’s Eurovision Song “Perfect Life” Here:

In the previous two years, Germany has come last place; in 2015 with Ann Sophie’s “Black Smoke” and in 2016 with Jaime-Lee’s “Ghost”. They are hoping that Levina, real name Isabella Lueen, will not make it a hat-trick and instead win the contest for her country.

The song is definitely a grower, and although it does sound similar to “Titanium” by David Guetta and Sia, it is quite different and has such a powerful meaning behind it. “Perfect Life” is one of those songs that will end up being stuck in your head for the rest of the day, and that is what makes it a strong contender to do well at Eurovision. It was written by Lindsey Ray, Lindy Robbins, and Dave Bassett.

To win, Levina has to beat acts from 42 other countries. The announced acts so far are: Cyprus’ Hovig, The Netherlands’ O’G3NE, Belgium’s Blanche, Macedonia’s Jana BurceskaAzerbaijan’s DiHajIreland’s Brendan Murray, Austria’s Nathan TrentAlbania’s Lindita, Armenia’s ArtsvikMontenegro’s Slavko KalezicGreece’s Demy, Georgia’s Tako Gachechiladze, Belarus’s NaviThe United Kingdom’s Lucie JonesFinland’s Norma John, Switzerland’s Timebelle, and France’s Alma.
