Kad Merad was born in Siddi Bel Abbes, Algeria, on 27th March 1964 to a French mother and an Algerian father.
Kad Merad paled drums and sang with rock bands during his youthful days and in 1990, had his big break when he was hired by Oui FM, a Paris rock station and had the opportunity to meet Olivier Baroux and together, formed the duet Kad & Oliver. Together, they started their own show, Rock’n Roll Circus and its success led them to meet Jean-Luc Delarue who ensured that their act found its way onto TV.
