Gayle King might be shaking things up on CBS This Morning. The TV host is reportedly standing firm in her desire to land a major contract with the network and is willing to walk away from her post if CBS does not give her “George Stephanopoulos money.”
An inside source claims that King refuses to sign another contract with CBS unless they give her a much larger salary. King currently earns around $6 million and was already thinking about leaving the show after Charlie Rose and Les Moonves were fired.

“Gayle is holding the show together, she wants George money — he got between $15 and $18 million to stay on at ABC,” the source explained.
According to Page Six, King was unhappy when her executive producer, Ryan Kadro, left the series amid the CBS payoff scandal. She also might lose her co-host, Norah O’Donnell, who is reportedly taking over Jeff Glor’s spot on the nightly news. If that happens, King hopes that CBS will have room in the budget to meet her salary demands.
The negotiations come after King was complimented for the way she handled an emotional interview with R. Kelly. The singer lashed out over the renewed sexual assault claims and King managed to somehow remain calm throughout his tirade. Based on that performance alone, King desires a raise.
In light of the attention, CBS is planning to release a longer special that includes King’s full-length interview with Kelly. The special will also feature her talk with Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, both of whom live with the embattled singer. Kelly was recently hit with 10 charges of sexual abuse and is facing up to 70 years in prison.

Shortly after the Kelly rant went viral, King revealed that she was not scared at any point during the interview.
In fact, Gayle King was more concerned about the interview and feared that Kelly would get up and walk out before they hashed things out.
