Cheryl’s fifth studio album is edging closer and it is almost ready for release. Fans of the Geordie superstar have been waiting patiently since 2014 for a new LP from the hitmaker whose last release was the top-ten hit ‘Only Human’. But it looks like the wait is almost over as the mother-of-one spilled that the record is “pretty much finished”.  

The LP promises to be a stellar collection of pop/dance hits, with Cheryl working with hit music producer Naughty Boy on a number of tracks while every single song on the album has been written by Cheryl with help from best friend and former Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts meaning it will be her most personal project to date.

The exciting news was confirmed by the ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ hitmaker to the Sun newspaper during Simon Cowell’s annual Summer Syco party in London; “Nicola and I wrote every track together. It’s been great working with one of my best friends, but I’m really proud of the album and excited for people to hear the new music. It’s pretty much finished. At this stage we’re deciding what will be the first single. We’re choosing between about three songs, but that’s quite a nice problem to have. Thankfully I’m not looking at it, saying, ‘Oh God, all this work and we don’t have a hit record’. I think we do.”  

Taking timings into account it is looking likely that we can expect a new single by the end of the Summer with the whole album dropping early/mid Autumn.
