Ellie Goulding has released a cover of Don McLean’s ‘Vincent’ as a Valentine’s gift for her fans.
Taking to Instagram, the singer said: “My album isn’t ready yet, but for the best fans in the world, here’s my offering for Valentine’s Day, a tribute to Don McLean who wrote this heartbreakingly beautiful and poignant ode to Vincent Van Gogh. So much love and big hug x”.

Ellie’s cover showcases her breathy vocals perfectly and she truly does the iconic song justice. It’s great to hear Ellie’s unique voice again and the cover has geared us up for brand new original material from the singer.
Ellie has been fairly quiet on the music front as of late. Most recently, she appeared on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack with a slightly re-imagined version of her global hit ‘Love Me Like You Do’ which appeared on the first soundtrack. She also teamed up with DJ Kygo last year to release ‘First Time’.
In terms of albums, Ellie’s last release was Delirium in 2015. Whilst we know Ellie’s new album isn’t ready yet, we can’t help but be excited at the thought of new material from the songstress.
‘Vincent’ is available to stream here.
