June 2024 · 3 minute read

Liam Charles is best known for his appearance as a competitor on The Great British Bake Off and he has since began his career as a television presenter.

In 2018, he starred as a presenter alongside comedian Tom Allen on Bake Off: The Professionals and is also a judge on the Junior Bake Off series.

Tom is also a regular on The Great British Bake Off: Extra Slice hosted by Jo Brand.

Junior Bake Off sees youngsters aged 9 to 15 tackle a series of tricky baking challenges in a bid to be crowned champion of the Channel 4 spin-off show.

Liam studied Drama and Theatre Arts at Goldsmith University in London before his rise to fame through the much loved show, which he appeared on in 2017 in its eighth series.

He was just 19 when he competed on the show and was still a student at the time, he placed fifth in the competition and became a fan favourite.

He has written two cookbooks, one published in 2018 titled 'Cheeky Treats: 70 Brilliant Bakes and Cakes' and a year later he released his second book called 'Second Helpings' and Liam also writes a baking column for The Guardian.

Liam revealed back in April 2020 that he was in a relationship with girlfriend Alexis who is based in LA, though Liam is based in the UK.

In an Instagram post of the two cuddling he said: “We have had our own ups and our downs especially because of distance and me just being just an absolute egg head at times. I’m sorry.

“This Is not going to completely disregard everything I done, I’m just showing you how much you actually do mean to me. The whole entire world.”

Liam did not mention in the post what exactly he meant by the 'ups and downs' of the relationship and is usually tight-lipped on personal matters including his relationships.

We do not know if the pair are still together as there has not been any images of the couple together on Liam's social media for a while, but the pair do generally keep their relationship out of the spotlight.

Liam will be judging on Junior Bake Off which is on Channel 4 at 5pm today, Wednesday January 19.
