Vision of a horror road rage incident in the ACT has emerged, showing a man allegedly chasing, abusing, and brake-checking another vehicle.

At one point, the ute with the alleged aggressive driver comes into contact with the alleged victim’s car as the ute swerves in front of them.

It happened about 5.40pm on Sunday when the driver of a white Toyota HiLux allegedly started tailgating the alleged’s victim’s car.

One of the passengers began filming the incident, with the vision, sent to Nine News, showing the HiLux cutting them off, slamming on its brakes, stopped in a left turning lane and forcing the victim’s car to mount a kerb in order to go around the HiLux.

One of the other occupants of the car calls the police, trying to give their location and a description of the man in the HiLux.

“He’s quite old, probably in his like 50s. He’s got short hair. He’s a white male. He’s got a very round face,” says the woman on the phone.

“He’s like mouthing that he’s going to bash us.”

The man in the HiLux shouts at the occupants of the car and gestures wildly.

Police later attended a home in Turner, where a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with furious driving.

His licence was also suspended ahead of a court appearance on October 4.

Anyone who saw the alleged incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit the Crime Stoppers ACT website using reference number 7540479.
